It’s been only a few days since beloved Mexican writer, actor, producer and all-around badass Roberto Gómez Bolaños created his Twitter account, and already the 82-year-old’s messages are taking the microblogging site by storm.
“¡Síganme los buenos!” he said in his first tweet and síganme they have, to the tune of nearly half a million followers in just three days.
Known by his nickname “Chespirito,” Gómez Bolaños is nothing short of a legend in Latin America thanks characters like El Chavo del 8 and El Chapulín Colorado which eternally live in television rerunville and have inspired generations.
Think of him as a genuinely lovable version of Charlie Sheen except without the tweak, and with La Popis, La Chilindrina and Doña Clotilde as his acting goddesses.
